The other day we where looking for a new place to fish near our house. I remembered that there was a small neighborhood just starting to build homes next to my aunts house. We had seen a small lake inside the new neighborhood while driving to my aunts house. The lake was kind of hidden, but it was public access, and we where all rigged up and ready to fish, so we headed on in! We quickly realized the pond was huge and we had the whole park to ourselves! I had on a small hook with a chunk of slim Jim jerky stick on (checkout my soon to come: Easy Ways To Catch Sunfish, blog for more info on fishing with Slim Jim). About two feet above the Slim Jim was a cork. My dad had on a small white roostertail (visit my: Great Lures, blog for more great info on the roostertail lure). We both almost instantly started getting hit. I started catching Bluegill and he started catching Bass. Right when we got there we saw a water snake slithering through rocks. It was a crazy day! It started normal, then we almost ran into a snake, then we caught a ton of fish! The next day we had no plans for the evening, and I wanted to fish soooooooo bad again, so we headed back to the pond! I had on the same rig up and bait, but my dad switched to a jig. I started hammering sunfish right away, and the pandemonium never stopped! I probably caught ten sunfish in the hour we where there (I could have caught more, but I lost the small hook I had on the night before, so I used a larger hook, so it took a bigger fish to get hooked). My dad did not catch any fish the whole time until about the last fifteen minutes, which is when he caught four decent Bass! Right before we left I saw another water snake! That is three in the past month! One at Sons Island, and two there! Maybe they want in on some of the fishin’ action! That is it for today, so see you next time on Hudson’s Fishing Adventures! Bye!
