Hi, it’s me, Hudson! Remember my last blog about freshwater fish bait and lures? Anyway, I’m going to teach you guys and girls out there some recommended by the best 9 year old fishermen out there salt water lures and baits. My grandad lives in Port O’Connor about 5 miles away from the Gulf of Mexico and every time we go down there we go salt water fishing, and one of my most favorite baits down there is live shrimp. If there are jetties (long rocky areas that connect to land) in the salt water next to you (if there is saltwater next to you) I would use live shrimp with a lead weight on a strong bait caster and just let it sink to the bottom and just wait until you feel that jerk of awesomeness! Corks with shrimp also work but that’s for more off of an island or a little bit more for in the middle of some water. Let’s move on to another good bait: Croaker. Croaker are good for fishing with while you’re wading in the water, take it from me, I caught my first speckled trout doing that, and it was a keeper! The last thing I recommend is a lure. It’s actually just a top water lure. The fish look up and think it’s a mullet jumping around up there and will go in for the attack, and then, don’t call me Captain Obvious but they get hooked.
