Winter Fishing
Hi fellow fisher men and women! Today I’m going to talk about winter fishing. Most of the time you use summer and spring lures in fall and winter, you might notice you don’t catch much fish. That’s because fish get cold up near the surface in the winter, so they go down to the bottom. Me and my dad have only caught few perch on the top in the winter, but then my dad decided to rig up a wacky worm. He was letting it sink to the bottom, and barely twitching it (be patient) and later he hooked two bass! So basically fish are down deeper in the winter. When we went winter fishing in the winter we went into a cove where there were no houses right next to us, and that’s were we caught the bass on a wacky worm rig. Once in a river in the winter I used a rubber crawfish and on my first cast I caught a little bass slowly jigging it back! In the bay I caught some sheep head drop lining with shrimp. Once we went in my boat to a big river in late fall and we were fishing for a while with more lures that don’t go super deep and we only caught a few little perch. We also used a lure that had a big jig head on it and we might have had some bights but there was also a lot of seaweed! Try to not get hung up on seaweed! See you next time on Hudson’s fishing adventures!
