AllClear Ecosystem Pond Kit - Hudson's Fishing Adventures
Hudson's Fishing Adventures

The Pond Guy AllClear Ecosystem Pond Kit

Hey! As y’all know, I LOVE FISHING! A big factor for my love of fishing is, well, the fact that I love fish! I have always found all fish so cool, especially predatory fish, like Large Mouth Bass!

If y’all watch my YouTube videos, or read some of my older blogs, you will know that a few years back, I built my own DIY Bass Pond! I built the pond with supplies off an awesome pond website called The Pond Guy.

The Pond Guy.com not only provides the best and highest quality pond building materials, but there customer service is INCREDIBLE.

They not only sell pond supplies, but also offer many blogs, like there Weekly Pond Talk blog, that will help you keep your water feature, weather that is a water fall, water garden, or a ranch pond running smooth, looking good, and keeping your fish and wildlife healthy! That pond has held up AMAZINGLY all this time, and I couldn’t be happier with it!

I am proud to announce that I am officially building a 2nd BASS POND in my backyard! We will yet again be using supplies from The Pond Guy.com, and I can’t wait to get building it! I will be making a video series on building the Pond on my YouTube channel, which I will have linked HERE once the videos come out!

We’re actually using a pond kit from The Pond Guy called the AllClear Ecosystem Pond Kit. If you are wondering why you should buy a pond kit, what it comes with, and HOW AWESOME the kit is, then read the text below!

Why Choose a Pond Kit for Your New Pond

If you’re planning a backyard pond installation, you have some options. You can buy all your
equipment separate, or you can buy a kit.
Whichever path you choose, the first step is to measure the dimensions of your new pond – the
length, width, and depth. Take those measurements to The Pond Guy.com, and you’ll find the pond calculator. This online calculator makes the whole process much easier.

You just plug in your pond size, and the online calculator tells you how many gallons that equals and recommends pump size and such.
The pond I’m building this time is going to be about 8 feet wide x 9 feet long x 2.5 feet deep. I
went with the kit option instead of individual pieces of equipment, for a few reasons. First, I
knew I would get everything I needed and that all the parts would work together.

Second, I didn’t have to guess on water pump or filtration size, or how much liner I would need. The kit
took the guesswork out of the process. And third, the kit was cheaper than buying separate.
So…a pretty easy choice for me!

Included Equipment in My New Pond Kit
This is The Pond Guy AllClear Ecosystem Pond Kit.

The great thing about this kit is that it’s easy to install
and it has maximum filtration. I need a good filtration system because I like to have lots of fish,
turtles, crawfish, and more!

AllClear G2 Pressurized Filter
UV Filter For Pond
The AllClear G2 has three types of filtration systems: ultraviolet, mechanical, and biological.

Filtration begins with a high output, low energy 9-watt UV clarifier. The UV clarifier exposes
pond water to a high output ultraviolet light to clear the water before it travels to the chamber.
Inside the chamber you’ll find the mechanical and biological filtration.

Alternating low- and high-density filter media pads filter out debris particles and provide a place for beneficial
bacteria to grow. The good bacteria break down ammonia and nitrates that can diminish water
quality and harm aquatic life. Perhaps best of all, the filter is designed to be easy to clean and
maintain.

45 mil EPDM Fish-Safe Pond Liner
This 45 mil EPDM fish-safe pond liner is the ideal choice for fish ponds and other waterscape

applications. The liner is made for ponds, so it’s safe for plants, fish, and other aquatic life.

45 mil EPDM is some of the strongest liner out there. The thick liner, not only is super strong, but also keeps the sun from wearing it down. I used this same liner in my last Bass pond, and it is awesome! I have had leaks in other ponds with cheaper, off brand liners, but never with this one! Having a thick and strong liner is essential for me, because my puppy Great Dane Axl LOVES to take an occasional swim in my ponds!

The liner also allows for flexible design. It’s durable and has J-Tear technology. I think you’ll
like the ability to tear in the direction of a desired cut for a short distance and then change
direction to curve back on the liner. During installation, this will stop the membrane from tearing
where you don’t want it to tear.
Under that pond liner, you’re going to need underlayment. Underlayment should cover all
surfaces the pond liner will be placed.

Protective Underlayment

Underlayment is a soft fabric that allows gas to escape, protects your liner from sharp objects,
and installs easily. The fabric will not rot or mildew and is resistant to damage from insects and
rodents. Underlayment is easy to install. Just lay it down on all the surfaces that your liner will
touch. It’s ok to overlap it.

ClearSpring Mini 16″ Waterfall Filter

The Pond Guy ClearSpring Waterfall Filter is a two-for-one deal. You get a beautiful waterfall
plus some filtration. Gotta love extra filtration! Pond water flows through the included multiple-
density filter pads and then the BioBalls, which provide maximum surface area for good bacteria to grow.

SolidFlo G2 Pump

Pumps are designed to help circulate water in your pond. This pump will push water to both our
filtration system and to your waterfall. Does this look familiar to y’all? It should! I have one
of these pumps in my current bass pond, and it’s running great! You can watch the video where I installed that pump in my last Bass pond HERE!

The Pond Guy SolidFlo G2 Pump is a fully submersible, energy-efficient, asynchronous pump. It
perfectly pairs with the other equipment in the kit. The best part? The sturdy pre-filter pump
enclosure keeps out large debris while allowing particles up to 1/4″ to pass through. So you can
stop cleaning your pump!

This feature may not sound crazy, but it is actually awesome. I have an old pump in my aquarium, and without the enclosure around the pump, algae, plants, pebbles, and other stuff is always getting sucked into the pump, and can even cause it to shut down due to lack of water flow. With this feature on the SolidFlo G2, that can’t happen!

Kink-Free Tubing

You need a way to move all that water from the pump, to the filter, and finally, to the waterfall. That’s where this tubing comes in. Flexible Kink-Free Tubing is the most widely used tubing for backyard ponds, water features, and gardens.

It is heavy-duty and guaranteed not to kink. The tubing is flexible enough to make the job easy and can withstand being buried. And it won’t degrade from the UV light coming from the sun.

Waterfall Foam

Does this look familiar? Yep! We used this foam in our last pond build, and it’s held up great.
You spray this foam into the gaps between rocks. So you can divert the water over the rocks,

instead of beneath them, by expanding and sealing gaps between rocks and pond liner. Once it’s dry, excess foam is easily removed and will look like shadows between rocks.

Nature’s Defense Beneficial Bacteria

One cool bonus that you get in the AllClear Ecosystem Pond kit in beneficial bacteria! Bacteria gets a lot of bad press these days. While it’s true some bacteria has negative effects,
bacteria is in every ecosystem (including fish ponds) working to ensure a balanced environment.
The Pond Guy Nature’s Defense is all-natural, beneficial bacteria that instantly activates as it hits the water and multiplies every 20-40 minutes to start digesting the dead organics in the pond, such as fish waste, uneaten food, and leaves. Cool, right?
Nature’s Defense eliminates excess nutrients such as phosphates and nitrogen. You can use
Nature’s Defense to both seed and maintain your biological filters, resulting in reduced levels of
ammonia, crystal clear pond water, and a thriving ecosystem.

I use this in my current Bass pond, and it keeps the water clear, healthy for my fish, turtles, and plants!
