Guadalupe Fly Fishing: 2nd Trip

Hi guys! Today I will be telling what happened on our second guided trip with Greg down the Guadalupe! This time I went with my Grandad, and it was awesome! At first he had caught two and I had caught none. It was a slow start but all of the sudden, I started getting hammered almost every cast! At one spot I hooked two, but lost both. Then a while later we came across about twenty Rainbow all over twenty inches feeding off fish eggs. I cast in there multiple times and hooked one almost every single cast, but couldn’t seem to get one in! We had run all the fish out of that pool, and had to go down another fifty yards or so. Right when we pulled up there, I hooked a decent eighteen inch Rainbow and got it in (finally!). That got the score two to one.

I was still getting hit like crazy, and hooked another big Trout, but it was swimming and pulling so fast that it broke the hook! Right after getting retied, I caught an okay sized Rainbow, which made the fish count go up to two to dos! I was still getting hammered, so much so that the guide switched my Grandad’s flies! A while later my fly hit the bottom and I reeled in a Nymph on my Nymph! Greg said the real Nymph probably tried mating with my fly!

Well anyways, back to the fish. Later on near the half way mark my Grandad caught a pretty nice Rainbow, and then hooked a monster fish, but it broke off. Right before the end, I caught a little Rainbow Trout tying the fish count three to three (because I obviously was not going to lose!).        Well anywase, see yall’ next time on Hudson’s Fishing Adventures!    BYE!!       P.S we’re closing in on the Colorado trip!
