Fish Talk: Guadalupe Bass

Today, I’m going to talk to you about the official fish of Texas, the Guadalupe Bass. This fish is a rare breed only found in Texas, restricted to creeks and rivers. Guadalupe Bass are a freshwater fish that like: flies, nymphs, crayfish, spinner baits, and live minnows. The way you know it is a Guadalupe Bass is because of the spots on the scales that seem to form rows on its white belly. They’re a fun sport fish because they like fast water and can use it to their advantage when hooked, making them all the more challenging to reel in successfully. One large Guadalupe Bass can serve about 1-2 people. I think they’re a pretty good fish to eat and a really fun catch. Comment below if you’ve ever caught a Gaudalupe Bass!
